INGREDIENTS
| 1 | pk | (4-serving size) Jell-O Brand gelatin; orange flavor |
| 3/4 | c | Boiling water |
| 1 | cn | (8-oz) crushed pineapple in juice; undrained |
| 1 1/2 | c | Ice cubes |
| 2 | Baked 9-inch yellow or white cake layers; cooled | |
| 8 | oz | Cool Whip whipped topping; thawed |
INSTRUCTIONS
DISSOLVE gelatin in boiling water. Add pineapple and ice cubes. Stir until gelatin begins to thicken, 3 to 5 minutes. Remove any unmelted ice. Chill until thickened. SPOON 1 cup thickened gelatin over each cake layer; chill about 15 minutes. FOLD whipped topping into remaining gelatin mixture. (If mixture becomes too thick, add milk until frosting is of desired consistency.) PLACE 1 cake layer, gelatin side up, on serving plate. Top with second cake layer, gelatin side up. Frost sides and about 1 inch around top edge of cake with whipped topping mixture. Chill until ready to serve.
