*** Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time and beat well. Add
sifted dry ingredients alternately with milk and vanilla; mix well. Melt
butter in 9-inch square pan. Sprinkle with brown sugar; stir until melted.
Arrange pineapple slices in pan; place cherry in center of each slice. Pour
batter over topping. Bake in 3500F oven for 50-60 minutes until done.
