INSTRUCTIONS
GLAZE
Chop & pit prunes & set aside. Cream sugar & shortening. Blend in beaten
eggs. Sift flour, salt, baking powder, soda & spices. Add to creamed
mixture alternately with milk, beginning & ending with dry mixture. Blend
in prunes & mix thoroughly. Bake in a long pan or 2 well-greased 9-inch
pans at 350 for 25-30 minutes. GLAZE: Melt butter over low heat. Add sugar.
Stir in buttermilk & soda. Bring to a boil. Pour over cake.
