INGREDIENTS
An orange-sized tamarind | ||

1 | T | Jaggery, powdered |
1 | t | Turmeric |
12 | Green chiles, chopped | |
4 | Sprigs curry leaves, chopped | |
1 | 4" piece ginger, chopped | |
Salt, to taste | ||
For Seasoning- | ||
1 | t | Black mustard seeds |
1 | t | Black gram dal |
3 | Red chiles, broken | |
4 | T | Oil |
INSTRUCTIONS
Extract juice from tamarind. Heat oil and add mustard seeds, black gram dal and red chilies. When brown, add green chilies and curry leaves and fry for a couple of minutes. Now add tamarind juice, jaggery, turmeric, salt and ginger. Cook till mixture is thick.
