INGREDIENTS
2 | c | Flour |
1 | c | Sharp cheddar cheese, grated |
1 | t | Sugar |
1/2 | t | Baking powder |
1/2 | t | Baking soda |
1/2 | t | Salt |
1/2 | t | Fresh pepper |
1 | c | Buttermilk |
1/3 | c | Margarine |
2 | Eggs |
INSTRUCTIONS
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease bottom only of 9X5 loaf pan. Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup, level off. In a medium bowl combine flour, cheese, sugar, baking powder, soda, salt and pepper. In a small bowl combine buttermilk, margarine and eggs; blend well and add to dry mixture. Stir ingredients until just moistened, and pour into greased pan. Bake for 35-45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely on a wire rack, wrap and store in the refrigerator.
