Sift flour, baking powder and salt together. Rinse raisins; drain. Chop
raisins and walnuts coarsely with sharp knife. Beat eggs vigorously until
very foamy; gradually beat in sugar until mixture begins to get thick and a
pale yellow color. Stir raisins, walnuts and vanilla. Gradually stir in
flour, mixing thoroughly. Pour into buttered pan 12"x2"x8". Bake in
moderate 350 degrees oven about 30 minutes or until cake tester inserted in
center comes out clean. Cool in pan; cut into 24 pieces and roll in
confectioners' sugar.
