NOTES : Sangria is a light, refreshing alternative to a glass of wine or
beer, especially popular in the summer months. A less expensive bottle of
dark red wine, such as Spanish Rioja, a California gamay, or other basic
red table wine will work just fine. Too many complex flavors, such as the
heavy oak of some wines, can become lost in the fruitiness of the Sangria,
or can even overpower the fruit.
