INSTRUCTIONS
1. Combine shortening and sugar.
2. Mix until smooth.
4. Add eggs one at a time. Beat until smooth.
5. Add anise oil. Sift flour. Add baking powder, salt and nuts to flour.
6. Gradually add this to basic. Mix thoroughly.
7. Grease 3 metal ice-tray pans.
8. Divide dough into 3 parts, with floured hands.
9. Press each part evenly into ice-tray pan.
10. Bake in 350 degree oven for 25 to 30 minutes. Cool for 10 to 15 minutes
at room temperature.
11. Turn out onto a cutting board. Slice whole loaf.
12. Place slices flat, onto a cookie-sheet.
13. Bake in 350 degree oven for 6 minutes. Turn each piece to other side
and bake 6 minutes more.
Delicious plain or buttered. Loaves may be stored whole in refrigerator of
freezer until ready to slice and bake again.
