INSTRUCTIONS
BAKE at 400 degrees for 5 to 7 minutes. MAKES 6 dozen cookies. Sift
together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, salt, cloves and nutmeg. Cream
butter. Gradually add sugar, creaming well. Blend in egg and molasses. Stir
in the dry ingredients; mix thoroughly. If desired, chill dough for easier
handling. Roll out on floured surface, one-third at a time, to 1/16th- inch
thickness. Cut with floured cutter or pastry wheel into various shapes.
Place on greased baking sheets. Bake in moderately hot oven (400 degrees)5
to 7 minutes. *For use with Pillsbury's Best Self-Rising Flour, omit baking
powder and salt.
