INSTRUCTIONS
Combine in a mixing bowl the, sugar, lemon peel and salt. With pastry
blender or two knives, cut in butter until particles are fine. Sprinkle 1/3
of crumbs over the bottom of a 9 inch square pan or 2 quart baking dish and
gently pat down. Arrange apples over crumbs. Sprinkle remaining crumbs over
apples. Bake in moderate oven at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until topping is
golden and apples are tender.
