Toasted sunflower seeds or sliced almonds |
INSTRUCTIONS
Remove stems from pea pods; wash and place in 1 quart glass casserole. Wash
asparagus; break into 1 inch pieces, discarding tough portion of the stalk.
Add to pea pods along with butter. Cover with casserole lid. Microwave on
HIGH for 5-6 minutes, or until almonst tender. Add cornstarch; mix until
blended. Cover.
Microwave on HIGH for 1-1 1/2 minutes, or until vegetables are desired
doneness. Sprinkle with sunflower seeds. Serves 4-5
TIPS: One 6 oz. package frozen pea pods and 1 10 oz. package cut asparagus
can be substituted for fresh. Increase time during initial cooking period
8-9 minutes.
