INSTRUCTIONS
Preheat the oven to 350C.
Place the strawberries in a heavy pan that can be used in the oven.
Sprinkle with a little vegetable oil and then the caster sugar. (The oil
enables the sugar to stick to the strawberries). Add the seeds from the
vanilla pod and place on the hob for a few minutes until the sugar starts
to caramelise. At this stage place the pan in the oven and cook for 4-5
minutes.
Remove strawberries from the oven and add the vinegar (this will bubble up
so be careful not to burn yourself).
Serve 5 strawberries per person with a large scoop of vanilla ice cream.
