INGREDIENTS

1/2 | c | Butter |
1 1/2 | c | Milk |
2 | T | Corn syrup |
1 | t | Vanilla |
2 | Tart apples, peeled & sliced | |
1 | Loaf French bread | |
1 | c | Apple sauce |
1 | Ten ounce jar apple jelly | |
1/2 | t | Cinnamon |
1/8 | t | Ground cloves |
1 | ds | Salt |
INSTRUCTIONS
Cook sugar, butter and syrup until syrupy, pour into a 9 x 13 inch baking dish. Spread apple slices over this. Slice bread into 3/4 inch slices and place on top of apple slices. Whisk together remaining ingredients and pour over bread. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Bake uncovered for 40 minutes in a 350 degree oven. Serve with spicy apple syrup. Spicy Apple Syrup: Combine all ingredients in small saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring consistently until jelly melts and syrup is hot.
