INGREDIENTS
1/2 | c | Sugar |
1/4 | c | Light corn syrup |
2 | T | Water |
2 | Egg whites | |
1 | t | Vanilla |
INSTRUCTIONS
Combine sugar, corn syrup and water in 1-quart casserole. Cook in microwave oven on full power for about 3-4 minutes, or until it spins a thread when dropped from a spoon. (The mixture starts bubbling slowly while cooking in the microwave.) Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form. Continue beating, pouring hot syrup in thin stream and then vanilla into egg whites. Beat until stiff peaks form. Spread on cake. NOTES : This frosting is excellent on a package chocolate cake mix, topped with toasted pecan pieces sprinkled on top. A Message from our Provider:
“We can do nothing, we say sometimes, we can only pray. That, we feel, is a terribly precarious second-best. So long as we can fuss and work and rush about, so long as we can lend a hand, we have some hope; but if we have to fall back upon God — ah, then things must be critical indeed! #A.J. Gossip”
