So You Dont Believe Theres A
So You Don’t Believe There Is A God?
So you don’t believe there is a God! So what? Do you think that is going to put God out of business? The Bible says, “For what if some did not believe? Shall their unbelief make the faith (literally “faithfulness”) of God without effect? God forbid” (Romans 3:3,4). God didn’t consult you when He created this world, and if you insist on turning your back on Him He might do some other things without your approval.
I suppose that if you don’t believe there is a God, you don’t believe there is a Heaven or a Hell, either. So what? God says that all unbelievers will be cast into the lake of fire (Revelation 20:15, Revelation 21:8). If you go on rejecting God, and end up in the lake of fire, you will probably be ready to admit that you made a mistake, but it won’t do you much good then.
The Bible says, “It is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment” (Hebrews 9:27) – Maybe you don’t believe it. You are going to die anyway. You are going to come up for judgment, too. God’s Word will not fail just because you prefer not to believe it. And that judgment will be according to His word, “The wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23), and “The soul that sinneth, it shall die” (Ezekiel 18:4).
Now if that was all I had to tell you, I wouldn’t bother you. You would find that out all too soon, anyway. What I really want to tell you is that “while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8). “God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).
Now there is no reason for anyone to remain in doubt about this. Jesus said that if any man was willing to do His will he would know whether His teaching was really from God as He claimed, or whether He was just an imposter (John 7:17). Believing in Christ isn’t just stepping into the dark. A man who could calm the storm with his word, and call a man back from the grave would be worth listening to. He did it! Lots of people today would like to see a man who could feed five thousand people with a boy’s lunch. He did it! A man who could live a perfect life, and then come out of the grave after he had been dead and buried ought to know something about life and death and life after death. Jesus Christ is that One!
It’s only reasonable to trust Him when He comes with credentials like that and says, “this is the will of Him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on Him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day” (John 6:40), and, “him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out” (John 6:37). How about you? Will you trust Him now? “As many as received Him, to them gave He gave power to become the sons of God” (John 1:12).
