TABERNACLE
BASIC R.C. BELIEF A gold box in which consecrated Hosts are reserved on the altar. Because Roman Catholics believe that Jesus dwells here, they make the Sign of the Cross or genuflect in His honor. HERE AM I, by the Benedict Convent of Perpetual Adoration, says, “If someone were to ask me, `Where is your God?’, I would not have to map out some pilgrimage route to a distant land, but simply point to the tabernacle” (page 59).
The scriptural “proof” for this is Ezekiel 37:27
