Will American Continue To Kill

WILL AMERICA CONTINUE TO KILL HER CHILDREN?

In light of the recent Supreme Court decision which puts the controversial abortion issue squarely into the hands of the American people, one wonders why the pro-abortion groups are so upset. One might ask, with justification: just what are they afraid of? Democracy?

For years, I have watched the media elite use the power of television and newspapers to change the minds of the American people. Since taking the abortion issue under their wing, they have unrepentantly kept major facts from the American people, and whitewashed the bloodsoaked operating tables of the abortion industry. And they have done it all under the guise of “women’s rights.”

I ask you: when was murder ever a right? We are not living in the Dark Ages; nor are we Americans living in a backwards country where birth control is unheard of, or too expensive. If a woman chooses not to take precautions against an unwanted pregnancy, then she should bear the burden. Nine months isn’t such a horribly long time, and there are innumerable couples in this country today longing to adopt a baby. Succinctly put, it’s a question of responsibility.

Many will no doubt growl that a woman has a right to do what she pleases with her own body. But it needs to be emphatically pointed out that a preborn baby is not a woman’s body; it is a separate human being that, under the present abortion laws is currently being denied it’s inalienable Constitutional right to Life. I ask you, as you are reading this: are you your mother? Or are you a separate human being?

Before you take a pro-abortion stand, I urge you to inform yourself of the details of the pro-life stance. In the event that you find that you have a lack of credible knowledge on the pro-life side of the abortion controversy, I submit to you some information that is generally overlooked by today’s media, but which the American public has the right to know before they can make a truly informed decision. (This is just a small sampling; more information can be received through your National Right to Life organization, or any other pro-life association.)

  • Did you know that pregnancy from rape and incest is extremely rare? It occurs in only 0%-2.2% of the victims involved.
  • On March 19, 1986 the Bangor, Maine Daily News reported that Alfred Moran, executive vice president of Planned Parenthood of New York City and president of Voters for Choice, publicly stated that statistics reveal that abortion has become “a PRIMARY method of birth control.” (Emphasis mine.) On January 23, 1983, the Washington Post reported that 60% of women having abortions did not make any attempt to use contraceptives at the time they became pregnant. In Maryland, some of your tax money is used to abort the babies of women who are too lazy to take precautions against pregnancy. And really, why should they bother with any kind of birth control when they can legally get an abortion at any time, and for any reason?
    • Did you know that in the womb of it’s mother, a baby’s heart will start beating at the age of six to seven weeks? How can we say that a single-cell creature is a living organism, and yet deny life to a tiny human being with a heartbeat?
  • Did you know that an abortion is a painful occurrence for the baby being aborted? Consider: in the documentary film The Silent Scream, Dr. Bernard N. Nathanson films the abortion of a twelve-week old unborn child by using ultrasound imaging — the same kind of technology that allows some parents to anticipate the sex of their baby.

As the abortion suction tube is being inserted, the ultrasound machine shows the innocent child’s reaction to an intruder into his warm, once-protective environment. As if somehow sensing danger, the baby starts to kick and squirm away from the instrument that seeks to tear him apart piece by piece. Unfortunately, the child is not successful. As the murderous instrument hits its mark, the ultrasound imaging machine forever captures the face of an unborn child as he opens his mouth and screams in pain — silently. The doctor who performed this abortion, after seeing the film, stopped performing abortions.

  • Also consider the case of Dr. Mats Waktel. A Swedish exabortionist, he has promised never to kill another child as long as he lives. Why? He was aborting a ten-week old baby and he heard the child cry out in pain. Babies at that age have functional vocal cords, and apparently an air bubble positioned itself over the baby’s mouth during the abortionist’s assault, alallowing him to hear for the first time the pain he had inflicted to countless preborn babies throughout the years. He said, “…I’ll never forget that scream.”
  • Did you know that under the current abortion laws, a woman can abort her baby right up to the moment of birth? Proabortionists consider it “restrictive” if a doctor finds that a preborn baby is able to sustain life outside of the womb, and therefore disallows the mother the “right” to an abortion. Should we agree that a woman has a right to kill her own child, even knowing that the baby could survive outside her body?
  • Some babies are aborted by hysterectomy (surgical removal of the uterus) or hysterotomy (an early cesarean section). Babies aborted through these procedures would likely be born alive. One then tends to wonder how they are killed … or what happens to them.
  • As late as 1983, there were approximately 500 live births from abortion, per year. And rising.
  • More women disapprove of abortion than men.
  • Many advocates of feticide maintain that abortion is safer than childbirth. However, medical evidence to the contrary refutes this statement. Consider the following:

Did you know that women still die even with today’s “safe” legalized abortions? A young woman of sixteen named Patricia Chacon bled to death from a lacerated uterus at Avalon Memorial Hospital. At the time, no one noticed that she was dying. Patricia is not alone as a statistic.

Eventual sterility, severe psychological problems, hemorrhaging, lacerations of the cervix, perforations of the uterus, blood clots, and anesthetic deaths are not uncommon among women who abort.

Of the psychological problems which afflict women who abort their babies, medical research includes these findings: the most common reaction over abortion is guilt; also common is anxiety, depression, sense of loss, anger and deterioration of self image; not only is a woman’s future emotional stability threatened, but so are her interpersonal relationships; those interviewed admitted to nightmares, flashbacks to their abortion experience and imaginations of their aborted children (the phantom child phenomenon); and fathers of the aborted children and medical personnel have also reported having psychological side effects of abortion.

  • Did you know that abortion is the only surgical procedure for minors which does not require parental consent? Your daughter could abort your grandchild without you ever even knowing about it. She would need your permission, however, before she could have a cyst removed.
  • We are now aborting 1.5 million babies every year in the United States. That is equivalent to killing the entire population of the state of Nebraska.
    • Even among women who agreed with the statement that “where abortions are legal, the decision about an abortion should be left up to the woman and her doctor,” 41% of those same women also believed that “where abortions are legal, the father should have the right to veto.”
    • If abortion is restricted in this country, the abortion industry stands to lose millions of dollars in revenue. According to figures published in 1987, Planned Parenthood Federation of America alone received an income totalling $299 million. Of those earnings, federal, state and local government reimbursements and grants provided $111.2 million (37.2%). (That’s your tax dollars, folks.)
  • And Planned Parenthood is just the uppermost crust of the abortion industry. It is reasonable to say that today, the combined abortion industry earns approximately $700 million annually from the killing of preborn children.

Could it be that the reason for their dismay over the Supreme Court decision, which allows the American people to decide whether or not they will “restrict” the so-called “rights” of women to kill their children, has more to do with the potential lightening of their purse than any altruistic motivation on their part? Only a real innocent in today’s world would consider the abortion profit not to be a conceivably major factor in the organized pro-abortion stance. Watch for the professional commercials outlining women’s rights which will be coming soon to your area. When you do, be sure to note that not once will the rights or personhood of the babies be addressed.

  • Finally, a child is aborted every 21 seconds. Since you began reading this item, approximately 20 preborn children have been killed.

The abortion issue has now been placed in the lap of the American people to deal with; it is crucial that we make the right decision regarding this controversial issue. From this point on, each American must decide for himself, considering all the facts and consulting his conscience: is abortion in America going to be a woman’s right…

… or a woman’s wrong? Only you can decide. And may God help us if we decide unjustly.
