We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

Throughout the course of history God has worked in a variety of ways through individuals, nations, and peoples. The focus of His present work is the church. That which was begun in the Scriptures, as men and women were called to acknowledge the Lordship of Christ, continues today in fulfillment of Christ’s promises to build His church. Not only is Christ building His church, but also it is the primary instrument through which He ministers in the world. As the Father sent Christ, so the church bears the ambassadorial role for its Lord as sent ones with a message of reconciliation.

THE ELDERSHIP

(Acts 20:17-38.) THERE is no room for improvement upon God’s arrangement of things, neither can there be any change from His arrangement without disaster. His arrangement for the management of the church is simple and perfect; and all changes from…

THE COMMUNION

THE SABBATH OR THE LORD’S DAY— WHICH?

(Acts 20:7.) ALTHOUGH there is much controversy upon this subject, the Scriptures are very clear when studied as a whole. Our discussion of the matter is not to perpetuate controversy, but to ascertain the truth. Nothing is settled until it…

THE WAY

(Acts 18:24-28.) IN the New Testament, Christianity is spoken of as “the way.” Jesus Christ calls it “the way” (Matt. 7:13, 14). Paul speaks of “the more excellent way” (1 Cor. 12:31), and of “the new and living way” (Heb….

REPENTANCE

(Acts 17:30, 31.) THERE is no discussion in the religious world of the necessity of repentance. There is, however, some misunderstanding as to the meaning of the term. Let us study it in the light of its usage in the…
