God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

Tim Keller says, “Jesus’ miracles did not merely show off the naked fact of Jesus’ power; they revealed the redemptive purpose of His power.”
J.D. Greear

Redemption comes from the marketplace where, in those days, slaves were purchased for a price. It speaks of the purchase of our salvation through the payment of a price for our sins… The New Testament also uses the related figure of ransom which refers to the price Jesus paid to purchase our salvation (Mark 10:45; 1 Tim. 2:6). The focus here is on the freedom we receive from the captivity of sin, through the price paid by Christ.

Garlic Croutons with Thyme
Rub a small heavy skillet with the cut side of the garlic and in it cook
the garlic in the butter over moderately low heat, stirring, for 5 minutes,
or until it is golden. Discard the garlic, add the bread cubes and the
thyme, and cook the croutons, tossing them, until they are toasted lightly.
Sprinkle the croutons with salt to taste and transfer them to paper towels
to drain.
Makes about a cup.
