We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

There is a limit beyond which patience, tolerance and charity toward another’s sin ceases to be a virtue.
David Garland

Unction is the sweetest exhalation of the Holy Spirit. It carries the Word like dynamite, like salt, like sugar; makes the Word a soother, an accuser, a revealer, a searcher; makes the hearer a culprit or a saint, makes him weep like a child and live like a giant; opens his heart and his purse as gently, yet as strongly as the spring opens the leaves. This unction is not the gift of genius. It is not found in the hall of learning. No eloquence can woo it. No industry can win it. It is the gift of God - the signet set to His own messengers. It is heaven’s knighthood given to the chosen true and brave ones who have sought this anointed honor through many an hour of tearful, wrestling prayer. Earnestness is good and impressive; genius is gifted and great. Thought kindles and inspires, but it takes a diviner endowment, a more powerful energy than earnestness or genius or thought to break the chains of sin, to win estranged and depraved hearts to God, to repair the breaches and restore the church to her old ways of purity and power. Nothing but holy unction can do this.

Maple Granola

CATEGORY CUISINE TAG YIELD
1 Servings

INGREDIENTS

10 c Rolled oats
1 ts Salt
1 1/4 c Real maple syrup

INSTRUCTIONS

Oops, turns out that it *was* there after all -- just under *desserts*
rather than breakfast!
Anyway, here's another even-more-unbelievably-simple granola recipe I made
last night:
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees:
Dump into a big bowl, and stir until the oats are evenly coated:
As with the other granolas I posted about, spread it all out on a large
cookie sheet and bake for 30 minutes, taking it out every five minutes to
stir it around, and keep it in an airtight container shortly after taking
it out of the oven, so it stays very crunchy.
You wouldn't believe how good this was! If you're reading this and thinking
"that sounds too sweet for cereal", well, think of it as a snack then --
it's very crispy and when you're crunching it up in your mouth it really
does taste like you're eating some kind of fancy maple cookie.
I should try including some other kinds of rolled/cracked/flaked etc.
grains with the oats in these recipes, but oats really are my favorite, and
IMHO too much wheat in granola makes me feel like I'm eating stale bread.
