Russian Easter Bread

INGREDIENTS

7/8 c Milk
1 1/2 tb Butter
1 Egg
3/4 ts Salt
1/3 c Sugar
1 ts Lemon zest
3 c Bread flour
1 1/2 ts Yeast
1 1/2 tb Amaretto
3 tb Raisins; golden or dark ***
3 tb Candied cherries; chopped ***
3 tb Candied pineapple; chopped ***
3 tb Almonds; chopped ***

INSTRUCTIONS

Soak the raisins in amaretto (or sherry) for at least 15 minutes. Drain
before adding to the dough.
*** add these ingredients after the first kneading period when the dough
has formed a smooth ball.
Makes a 1.5 pound loaf.
