We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

Is there anyone among you who truly thinks their salvation hangs suspended on the thin thread of your own will-power and commitment to righteousness? I know my own soul all too well. Were it not for God’s preserving grace I would have lost my salvation the day after I was born again. “If ever it should come to pass, that sheep of Christ might fall away, my fickle, feeble soul, alas! would fall a thousand times a day!” If you do not believe in the security of your soul in Christ, tomorrow should hold little but fear and misery and perhaps despair for you. For it may well be the day you commit that sin that will forever sever you from the Savior’s love. I can face tomorrow and the day after and the day after that with confidence, because I know that He “will never leave me nor forsake me” (Heb. 13:5).

Just because you come to Christ does not mean you will not experience suffering. Christians and non-Christians suffer with similar trials. The difference is not in the nature of the trial, but rather the way in which we respond to the trials. You see, the world needs things in their life to go well to stay happy. Therefore they are continually up and down based upon their circumstances. Christians however know that God is sovereign over the trials they experience. They know the trials are specifically customized to their lives sent from the wise and loving hands of God. They are not sent to rob us of our joy. They are sent to refine us and make us more like Christ. Therefore it is our responsibility to by God’s grace remain under the trials until they perform in us the work designated by God. Knowing and believing this, we can have deep joy even in the worst of times because we know God’s refining process is the best thing we can ask for for spiritual transformation, Christlikeness.

INGREDIENTS

4 tb Shoyu (or soy sauce)
2 tb Balsamic Vinegar
1 tb Brown sugar
1 To 2 cloves garlic crushed,
Or chopped very fine
1 tb Freshly grated ginger root
x Onion
x Green pepper
x Carrots
x Brocolli
x Mushrooms
x Water chesnuts
x Cornstarch

INSTRUCTIONS

MARINADE
VEGETABLES
I Use my wok as a steamer, really. I add onion, green pepper, carrots, and
brocolli all at the same time and stir-fry until the onions get limp, just
with the oil that I 'cured' the wok with last time I washed it, that is I
do not add any. Then I add about 3/4 cup of water or broth and cover. The
steam cooks the veggies quickly, you can increase the water for softer
veggies, or decrease for crunchier ones, but cook until all of the liquid
is gone. I then add a can of water chestnuts and mushrooms along with the
marinade mixture and stir-fry for a few minutes to cook the mushrooms and
heat the chestnuts. Add about 3/4 teaspoon of cornstarch, and cook for a
minute or so, mix and serve over really good rice. The cornstarch thickens
the marinade and makes it cling to the veggies better.
I love the sweet-sour taste of this marinade, another nice addittion is to
add a can of chunked pineapple, It tastes great and is unusual.
Good luck to all stir-fryers and thank you all for your support.
