We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

In Shansi I found Chinese Christians who were accustomed to spend time in fasting and prayer. They recognized that this fasting, which so many dislike, which requires faith in God, since it makes one feel weak and poorly, is really a Divinely appointed means of grace. Perhaps the greatest hindrance to our work is our own imagined strength; and in fasting we learn what poor, weak creatures we are-dependent on a meal of meat for the little strength which we are so apt to lean upon.

INSTRUCTIONS

This was another treasure I found today while looking through my
grandmother's books! She must have been watching over me today! This is off
a "Prize winning Bake-off recipes" ad from Pillsbury. It looks like it came
out of a bag of flour. I imagine it is the original recipe....
Oven 375 F About 48 cookies
Combine all ingredients except candy in large mixer bowl. Mix on lowest
speed of mixer until dough forms. Shape dough into balls, using a rounded
teaspoonful for each. Roll balls in sugar; place on ungreased cookie
sheets. Bake at 375 F for 10 to 12 minutes. Top each cookie immediately
with a candy kiss; press down firmly so cookie cracks around the edge.
