We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

In order to break our wills to His, God brings us to the foot of the Cross and there shows us what real brokenness is. We see those wounded Hands and Feet, that Face of Love crowned with thorns and we see the complete brokenness of the One who said, “Not My will, but Thine be done,” as He drank the bitter cup of our sin to its dregs. So the way to be broken is to look on Him and to realize it was our sin which nailed Him there. Then as we see the love and brokenness of the God who died in our place, our hearts will become strangely melted and we will want to be broken for Him and we shall pray, “Oh, to be saved from myself, dear Lord, Oh, to be lost in Thee, Oh, that it might be no more I, But Christ that lives in me.” And some of us have found that there is no prayer that God is so swift to answer as the prayer that He might break us.

Missions is about the worship of Jesus. The goal of missions is the global worship of Jesus by His redeemed people from every tribe, tongue, and nation. The outcome of missions is all peoples delighting to praise Jesus. And the motivation for missions is the enjoyment that His people have in Him. Missions aims at, brings about, and is fueled by the worship of Jesus.

INSTRUCTIONS

MUSHROOMS
MUSHROOM BROTH
RISOTTO
To prepare the mushrooms: Remove stems from mushrooms. Set stems aside
for mushroom broth. Wipe the mushrooms clean with a damp cloth. Combine
olive oil, shallot, balsamic vinegar, salt and pepper. Toss mushroom caps
in the mixture to coat well. Grill or broil mushrooms until tender, about
10 minutes. Cut into nickel-size chunks; set aside. (Mushrooms can be made
ahead and refrigerated).
To prepare mushroom broth: Mince reserved mushroom stems; set aside. Saute
garlic and shallot in the olive oil until translucent. Add minced stems.
Saute a few minutes more. Pour in red wine and increase the heat, stirring
until almost all the wine has evaporated. Add stock. Lower the heat and
simmer uncovered about 25 to 30 minutes or until the liquid is reduced by
one-fourth. Set aside. (Broth can be made ahead and refrigerated. Reheat
before using in risotto.)
To prepare risotto: Cook the onion in the oil until soft but not browned.
Add the rice; stir until it is coated. Cook, stirring, until a toasted
aroma develops. Stir in salt and pepper. Add the reserved mushroom stock
in several additions, stirring the rice frequently and letting most of the
stock be absorbed before adding more. If you do not have enough mushroom
stock, finish making risotto with stock. Cook until the rice is almost
tender and most of the liquid is absorbed. Stir in oil and reserved
mushrooms.
