This entry is part 1 of 2 in the series What pleases God

When is the last time your church burned incense in the sanctuary?

It seems like an odd question, doesn’t it!

Does burning incense please God?  If it didn’t, why would it be mentioned so many times in the Bible, both with reference to the temple on earth, and in Heaven…

…the smoke of the incense rose with the prayers of the saints from the hand of the angel before God – Rev 8:4

And the whole multitude of the people were praying outside at the hour of incense. – Luke 1:10

If incense pleases God as an element of our prayer time, why is it missing from our churches and individual prayer times?

What other things please God, that we have misplaced through the years?  We don’t serve an “all spirit” or “all intellect” God – He is a God of many senses, which is known by His creating us in His image.  We see, we smell, we hear, we touch, we taste…

How can we please God more, in His house, and ours?
