We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

During true revival, thousands of lost people are suddenly swept into the Kingdom of God. Scenes of the lost coming to the Savior in great, and unprecedented numbers, are common.
Henry Blackaby

The essence of gospel-humility is not thinking more of myself or thinking less of myself, it is thinking of myself less… True gospel-humility means I stop connecting every experience, every conversation, with myself. In fact, I stop thinking about myself. The freedom of self-forgetfulness. The blessed rest that only self-forgetfulness brings.

Two ways God is beckoning to you

God reaches out to us through all of our senses, and even within ourselves…

  1.  Ever since the creation of the world his [God’s] invisible nature, namely, his eternal power and deity, has been clearly perceived in the things that have been made. (Romans 1:20)

The majesty of the physical world powerfully, perpetually, and irrefutably demonstrates two truths to all rational beings: (a) There is a God sufficiently powerful to have crafted the cosmos, and (b) this God deserves man’s worship.

2. What [God] requires is written on our hearts, while our conscience also bears witness and our conflicting thoughts accuse or perhaps excuse us.  (Romans 2:15)

[This is] the testimony of God in the moral universe —the witness of a conscience that assaults us when we act wickedly and commends us when we do good. This is an internal witness, and it demonstrates that the God who placed His law in our hearts will hold us accountable for our wickedness.

God loves us.  Why would he stop calling out to us, to rescue us?
