God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)
Throughout the history of the church, emotions were always viewed with suspicion because they could vacillate so wildly. Now they are praised. Too often they are the standards by which we make judgments.
Gradual growth in grace, growth in knowledge, growth in faith, growth in love, growth in holiness, growth in humility, growth in spiritual-mindedness – all this I see clearly taught and urged in Scripture, and clearly exemplified in the lives of many of God’s saints. But sudden, instantaneous leaps from conversion to consecration I fail to see in the Bible.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Beat egg substitute, sugar substitute and
maple flavoring in a medium bowl; mix in margarine and vanilla. Combine
flour, baking powder and salt in small bowl; stir into egg mixture. Mix in
coconut, walnuts and raisins. Spread evenly in greased 8-inch square baking
pan. Bake until browned and toothpick inserted in center comes out clean,
about 20 minutes. Cool on a wire rack; cut into squares.
