Apple Cinnamon Bars

INGREDIENTS

3/4 c Apple cinnamon multi-bran cereal
1 c Applesauce; (or finely chopped apples)
2/3 c Raisins; plumped
1/2 ts Freshly grated orange peel
1/2 c Margarine
3/4 c Brown sugar; packed
2 Eggs or 4 egg whites
1 1/2 c Flour
1 ts Baking powder
1/2 ts Baking soda
1/2 ts Salt
1/2 ts Cinnamon
1/2 ts Nutmeg
1/2 c Chopped walnuts

INSTRUCTIONS

Heat oven to 375 degrees F. In a medium bowl combine cereal, applesauce,
raisins and orange peel. Set aside. In a large bowl, cream margarine and
sugar. Add eggs and beat well. Stir in the combined dry ingredients. Blend
in applesauce mixture and nuts. Spread evenly in a well-greased 13X9X2-inch
baking pan. Bake 18 to
22    minutes or until lightly browned. Cool and cut into 36 bars.
