Apple Nut Bread

INGREDIENTS

1/4 c Butter
1 c Brown sugar
2 Eggs
3 c Self-rising flour
2 c Grated apple
3/4 c Chopped nuts
1 ts Grated lemon peel
1 ts Cinnamon
1/4 ts Nutmeg
3/4 c Buttermilk

INSTRUCTIONS

Preheat oven to 350.
Grease & flour a shallow glass or metal baking pan. (maybe an 8 x 11
size) cream butter & sugar together. Beat in eggs. Combine in another
bowl flour, apples, nuts, lemon peel, cinnamon & nutmeg. Mix well.
Mix into creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk. Pour into
baking pan. Bake until toothpick comes out clean. About 30 minutes.
Cool before eating. Cut into squares to serve.
If microwaved, approximately 12-15 minutes.
