We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

Therefore, I bind these lies and slanderous accusations to my person as an ornament; it belongs to my Christian profession to be vilified, slandered, reproached and reviled, and since all this is nothing but that, as God and my conscience testify, I rejoice in being reproached for Christ's sake.
John Bunyan

God declares to us that Jesus Christ, who once had His side pierced, today has His heart open, as it were, that we may have assurance of the love that He bears us; that as He once had His arms fastened to the cross, now He has them wide open to draw us to Himself; and that as once He shed his blood, so today He wishes us to be plunged within it. So, when God invites us so sweetly and Jesus Christ sets before us the fruit of His death and passion...let us all come to take our stand with our Lord Jesus Christ.
John Calvin

Bible Reading: APR30: I Chronicles 6

APRIL 30

The genealogies were probably compiled from many records
which had been written on tablets and partly copied from preceding
Old Testament books. The nine chapters of genealogies form the
generation to generation tie-up of all preceding Bible history. They
need not be read for devotional purposes as frequently as other
portions of Scripture; but, in reality, these and similar
genealogies are the skeleton framework of the Old Testament. They
bind the entire Bible together and give it unity.

As we read these chapters we should realize more fully that
we are reading the history of God’s people, inspired of God to be
written, and not some folklore or legend.
