NEW HOME SCHOOL DISCUSSION BOARD
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Elijah Company has just set up a new home school
discussion board which I think is just wonderful. It is
organized by school subject and other home education
related topics (learning styles, choosing curriculum,
big families, etc.)
I highly encourage you to visit this site soon! There is
not a whole lot of traffic yet since it is so new, but now
it's no secret anymore, and I hope you all will join
the fun. This is a great place to get your questions
answered and to offer your own two cents worth.
WRITE ON! CREATIVE WRITING CLASSES BY E-MAIL
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Gwen Simmons is offering her creative writing course called WRITE ON! and
her second course WRITE ON AGAIN! for a summer session. Gwen is a
home
school mom with a degree in English and has experience as a published
writer. She has created this creative writing course especially for home
schools. WRITE ON! gives encouragement to students who do not like to
write as well as to students who already love to write but need more
challenges. If you'd like more information about WRITE ON! you may
visit
Gwen's website at writeon.faithweb.com or email Gwen at
igd77@lisco.net for a course description. Enrollment for the summer
session is right now.

>From Doreen Morgan in west Orlando area:

Dear Friends:
Faithful bookshop has expanded! We have recently purchased another
bookshop and combined it with our own. My husband is now in charge and
we
are excited about the chance to work together serving all of you. We will
now
be traveling to Homeschool shows with the books in 3 states as well as
taking
online orders. You may still come to our home by appointment or shop with

ease on the Internet. We even take credit cards at the website using
PayPal.
We continue to consign and are committed this year to selling your books
world wide! Thank you for the opportunity to serve you. Please feel free
to
e-mail myself or my boss. Enjoy browsing through all our new books.

USBORNE BOOKS
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My home schooling friend Kathi Watson is an Usborne book distributor.
She just sent me the linke to her new web site, and when I visited it,
I found that I could have an Usborne books e-show and get free books!
(I like Usborne books!) Really, though, my motivation is for you to be
able to see the great stuff there, and help out my friend Kathi...
Aren't
I altruistic? 🙂
Here is the official invitation:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
-------
You are invited to an Usborne Books e-Show to explore
the world of Usborne Books. A child's interest in reading
and learning is stimulated by the lavish illustrations and
informative content. There are over 1000 bright, colorful
and fun titles covering activities, puzzles and a wide
range of subjects for children of all ages.
Usborne Books - the books kids love to read!
Hosted by: Virginia Knowles
Place: http://www.ubah.com/HOS10307
When: Today - 5/4/01 11:59:00 PM
Everyone is welcome, so invite a friend.
It's a rewarding experience when a child opens a book and
discovers the magic of reading.
If you would like to visit Kathi's site, here it is:
WHO WROTE THAT EASTER ARTICLE IN THE LAST ISSUE?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

OK, I goofed. Actually Val goofed! Well, we both goofed! I'll get
to the point. Val sent me the article and I assuming I would know
it was from her son Sam, who often writes for us from a teenager's
perspective. I didn't see Sam's name on it, wondered about it,
but didn't check, so I mistakenly attributed it to Val.
The bottom line is: SAM WROTE THE ARTICLE!
(And he did a wonderful job! Thanks, Sam! We appreciate you!)

That's all for now. I probably forgot something as usual,
but as you should know by now, I am only too human!

Blesings,
Virginia Knowles
