Fresh Wind, Fresh Fire

Posted by: Blc914 <Blc914@...>

Good Morning Ladies -- I finished Jim Cymbala's wonderful book Fresh Wind,
Fresh Fire this weekend. I recommend it to you all!

The basis of this book is the true story of the Brooklyn Tabernacle and how
prayer change this church from a swindling fellowship to a powerful beacon of
light. But there is so much more than just a story about a church. You will
see how prayer really works when it is true heartfelt in the spirit prayer.
Cymbala is very frank and blunt about churches and Christians and their role
in our world. He does not buy into the gimmicks and "new" ideas that many
churches use to draw people in, nor does he like the number counting game
that is so prevalent in our churches today. He believes in loosing the Holy
Spirit -- believing in the power of God -- knowing that the power seen in the
New testament churches is still available to use today! He encourages you to
pray like you have never prayed before and to get your hands dirty!

If you want (or need!) a fresh spark -- to feel the breeze of God's breath
across your face, then read this book! It s truly inspirational.

Cymbala has written two others with the "Fresh" theme -- Fresh Faith and
Fresh Power. I have yet to read them.
