Subject: [Moderator] Groups no longer require "unsubscribe" confirmationI've made a change to the email group settings for all groups (welovegod.org/welovegod.org/welovegod.org/jesusagora.org) to no longer require subscriber confirmation when an UNSUBSCRIBE command is sent to the server.
The philosophy is simple: when people want off the group, they want off now. 🙂
There has been some debate around protecting subscribers from forged unsubscribe requests, and I guess if we published our subscriber lists, this would be a significant concern - but we don't.
We also run into some email servers and software that seems to lose the unsubscribe confirmation emails.
So in the spirit of leaving departing subscribers with a happy, smooth, cooperative departure experience, this new instant-off approach should be well received. It will also ease your burden, so users don't come to you for unsubscribe help.
Enjoy, and have a nice weekend,
Glen
