[Fwd: Daily Devotional for Thursday, April 9, 2009]

Dear friends,

The attached message writes about the great mercy of God, demonstrated
so completely and effectively through His Son, Jesus Christ. This week
we celebrate the events leading up to the historic events of Christ's
trial, crucifixion, suffering, death, and ultimate victory over sin and
death.

I pray that each of us spends time considering these events and what
they mean personally to each one of us, for it was what Christ did for
us that provides us a way to God the Father. The Way is there, but one
thing remains: will we choose to believe and accept the One who gave
everything for us - and be saved from our sins, or will we continue to
be lost, ignoring what Christ has done for us, either out of complacency
or arrogant disbelief?

God has made a way for each one of us to have a completely restored
fellowship and joy with Him because of His Son, Jesus Christ. He made
the incredible sacrifice! He is the righteous judge. He will not force
His Son upon us, but His Son is the only means by which we have any
access to our eternal home in Heaven, prepared and reserved for all who
call upon His Son, Jesus Christ by faith.

Read the Bible, that is where we gain the faith. We read it, think
about it, and believe what it says, and faith is established, then as we
continue to read, study, and learn, our faith grows. But for faith to
continue to live and not wither away, it must be maintained. We need to
regularly read the Word, think about it, trust it, and obey it,
otherwise the full power of the Word cannot be made alive in us. So
won't you do more than just open up these Email messages? Don't take me
at my word. Though what I say is true to the best of my limited
knowledge, the Word of God is the Source of all knowledge. Read it,
know it, trust it, believe it, and act upon it, and your lives will be
enriched with what the Holy Spirit of God can do in your life.

Yours in Christ,
Brian
