We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

[In Ephesians 5] Paul was not suggesting that we can possess the Spirit in varying measures. The Holy Spirit is an indivisible person – one of the divine persons of the Trinity, which means that He Himself is God – and He either indwells a person or not. No one has the Spirit of God in partial measure. But to be “filled with the Spirit” is to be controlled by the Spirit. The contrast Paul made proves the point. To be drunk with wine is to have your faculties controlled by alcohol – to be so given over to its influence that the wine governs you in a negative way. To be filled with the Spirit is simply to be controlled by Him so that His power dominates you in a positive way.
John MacArthur

Scripture reveals six noteworthy characteristics of Jesus' healing ministry (in contrast to those who profess miraculous healings today): 1. Jesus healed with a word or a touch… There were no theatrics, no special environment. 2. Jesus healed instantly… People often say, 'I've been healed, and now I'm getting better.' Jesus never did 'progressive' healing. If Jesus had not healed instantly, there would have been no miraculous element sufficient to demonstrate His deity. His critics could easily have said the healing was just a natural process. 3. Jesus healed totally… There was no recuperation period. 4. Jesus healed everyone. Unlike healers today, Jesus did not leave long lines of disappointed people who had to return home in their wheelchairs. He did not leave healing services or programs that ended at a certain time because of airline or television schedules. 5. Jesus healed organic disease. Jesus did not go up and down Palestine healing lower back pain, heart palpitations, headaches, and other invisible ailments. He healed the most obvious kinds of organic disease – crippled legs, withered hands, bind eyes, palsy – all healings that were undeniably miraculous. 6. Jesus raised the dead… People who tout the gift of healing today do not spend much time in funeral parlors, funeral processions, or cemeteries.
John MacArthur

I wonder if he ‘s as concerned about eternity as he is about those four hours! Intelligent men and women all over the world today are carefully looking after their interests in this life but are blind to eternity. In spite of god’s love for men, His hatred of sin, the brevity of life and the terror of judgment after death, men and women hurry on as if there were no god, no
sin, hell. If you are like this, I hope this booklet will open your eyes to the danger of  your position. Don’t travel through life third class!

But you may say, “It’s not that I
don’t care about the welfare of my soul. I’m just not sure. I guess you’d call me a second class passenger, because I’m uncertain.”
Both indifference and uncertainty result from unbelief. Indifference comes from unbelief about sin and how it condemns man. Un certainty comes from unbelief about God’s plan to save man. The more you are concerned about your eternal future, the more unhappy you will be until you know for certain that you are eternally saved. “For what will it profit a man: if he gains the whole world, and lose his own soul?” (Mk.8:36).

Suppose you are driving far from home. You are low on gas so you stop to ask a passerby the way to the nearest gas station. He says, “I think a left turn will get you there.” Then he says, “I hope that’s right.” Would his directions satisfy you? Unless you have certainty about
it, every mile down that road will increase your anxiety. People can really get sick worrying about the eternal safety of their souls! One poet expresses the value of the human soul this way:

To lose your wealth is
much.
To lose your health is more.
