We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

Just as every sin is the fruit of unbelief, at the heart of every sin is an idol. If I believe a lie about God, then I am not worshipping Him; rather, I am belittling Him, casting Him from the throne of my heart. Man was designed for worship, so if I am not worshipping God, I am worshipping something or someone else.

I have never known anyone whose speech communicated such a sense of the reality of God as did the Doctor (Martin Lloyd-Jones) in those occasional moments of emphasis and doxology. Most of the time, however, it was clear, steady analysis, refection, correction and instruction, based on simple thoughts culled from the text, set out in good order with the minimum of extraneous illustration or decoration. He knew that God’s way to the heart is through the mind (he often insisted that the first thing the gospel does to a man is to make him think), and he preached in a way designed to help people think and thereby grasp truth – and in the process be grasped by it, and so be grasped by the God whose truth it is.

    If they are living together, they clearly do not know him or love Him.  Jesus said if you love me you will keep my commandments.  Second, the seriousness of their sin cannot be down played or minimized as the world does.  If they are members of the church, they should be given a choice to renounce this behavior and repent or leave the ministry.   To the women caught in the act of adultery Jesus did not just say  to her..."go", he told her to "go, and sin no more."  If these folks minimize the nature of there actions, they would rather have their sin than their savior.  They cannot have both as the American Gospel would have us to believe.  Have I been to harsh? Not really, the flames and eternal nature of Hell it self is harsh. "fornicators and adulterers shall not inherit the kingdom of heaven."  David
