We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

The church is not a building made with stone. It is a building made with living flesh. We believers are living stones in God’s temple (1 Pet. 2:5), and when we come together we constitute a place of worship where God manifests Himself in ways that He cannot manifest Himself when we are alone. Believers become the living temple of God, offering to Him spiritual sacrifices not possible anywhere other than in the assembly of the redeemed church.
John MacArthur

One of the great delights of the Christian is to read and study the word of God, which is or light (Ps.110:105), bread (Matt.4:4), sword (Heb.4:12) and treasure (Ps.119:72). The Christian God blesses is one who meditates in His word (Ps.1:3).

It is not an isolated case.  The issue is not just Christian’s dress or ornaments, but our separate identity.  Can a believer follow a distinct biblical life where ever he/she may be? Is it necessary to adopt the style of the place where we stay? Is it necessary for us to follow the crowd, sacrificing our principle and faith?

<div class=MsoNormal style="BORDER-RIGHT: medium none; PADDING-RIGHT: 0in;

 It is definitely an important issue especially in this liberal, promiscuous age.  There will be much pressure from many quarters to walk like others.

Through out the scriptures we read that God’s people are called upon to lead a separated life unto the Lord. Gen.12:1ff.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun:

Our Lord lived a separated life. Heb.7:26. Corinthian church is exhorted to maintain separation. 2 Cor. 7:14-18.  The meaning and implication of redemption advocate a separate identity for a Christian. The truth of regeneration and new life make it mandatory. The very nature and attributes of our God also demand it.

But what is the extend of separation? What are the areas where we need to maintain separation?

One of the great delights of the Christian is to read and study the word of God, which is or light (Ps.110:105), bread (Matt.4:4), sword (Heb.4:12) and treasure (Ps.119:72). The Christian God blesses is one who meditates in His word (Ps.1:3).

The important thing is that our hearts are prepared to read and study the Holy Scriptures. What kind of a heart do we need?

  1. A converted heart (1Cor.2:6—16). The unsaved person cannot understand spiritual truths, because they are revealed only by the Spirit of God. The Bible is
    the only book you can not understand unless you know the Author personally.
  2. A clean heart (Ps.51:10).  Sin robs of fellowship with God, and we must be sure that we have confessed our sins and received His forgiveness (1Joh.1:9).

The Bible is the word of faith (Rom.10:8) and is understood by those who have childlike faith in God (Matt. 11:25, 26).
  4. An obedient heart (John.7:17).  Unless we are willing to
    obey what He teaches us, He will not us. It has well been said that “obedience is the organ of spiritual knowledge.” You do not get the blessing simply reading the Word, or even studying it, but by obeying it (James 1:25).
