We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

How can you speak of life and death with such a heart? How can you preach of heaven and hell in such a careless, sleepy manner? Do you believe what you say? Are you in earnest or in jest? How can you tell people that sin is such a thing, and that so much misery is upon them and before them, and be no more affected with it? Should you not weep over such a people, and should not your tears interrupt your words? Should not you cry aloud, and show them their transgressions, and entreat and beseech them as for life and death?

When Samuel Morris developed the telegraph, he couldn’t use it until enough wire could be constructed to test its practicality. He asked the government for $30,000. On the last day of Congress, it hadn’t come up yet for a vote. He waited in the gallery until late at night. He finally gave up and went back to his hotel. The next morning, a young girl stopped by to tell him the bill passed just before midnight. He was so thrilled he told her she could send the first message when it was completed. She did and it said, ‘What hath God wrought.’
