A SPECIAL FORWARD FROM OUR IMB LEADERS

Posted by: lifeunlimited <lifeunlimited@...>

Dear Hope4Kyiv Friends and Family:

We apologize for sending two extra "special" letters this month, but both are urgently important.

However, we believe this letter is of great importance as we all join together in trying to recover the aggressive missions momentum that we have enjoyed through IMB these past few years.

Now that the economy is on the rebound and IMB investments are improving, it is urgent that our churches and fellow members join the advance by . . . .

    1.  Increasing Cooperative Program giving through annual budget designations, and . . .

    2.  Giving abundantly, generously, and enthusiastically to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering.

So, please, dear friends, take time to click on the following links to learn more about the needs and opportunities.  Notice especially the quotation by our own Strategy Coordinator with whom we work, Sam Taylor.

We will send our regular newsletter shortly.

In His Bond and For His Kingdom,

Bob and Jo Ann

Giving

The Lottie Moon Christmas Offering supports missionaries like Troy Lewis, who ministers to those in Zambia dying of AIDS.

11 top-notch reasons to give

to the Lottie Moon offering

Many things simply wouldn’t happen without Southern Baptists’ generous giving to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering®. For example, Troy Lewis wouldn’t be able to minister to AIDS patients in Zambia. Read more.

Church sets ambitious goal for missions offering
John Newland recognizes his church can’t single-handedly send missionaries overseas, but he believes God will bless its step of faith—collecting its largest-ever Lottie Moon offering for international missions. Find out why First Baptist Church, Grayson, Ky., which averages about 200 in attendance each Sunday, has steadily increased its giving to the annual offering.

Register your church’s offering goal.

Quotable: “… doing much more than persevering …”
“Baptists have been in Ukraine for 150 years. They’ve been suppressed, threatened, impoverished and imprisoned. But through it all, they’ve persevered. However, with the collapse of the former Soviet Union and the establishment of an independent Ukrainian state, Baptists in Kiev are now doing much more than persevering—they are aggressively starting new churches. Made possible by your gifts to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering, the Kiev Team of the International Mission Board is helping Ukrainian Baptists to plant 25 new churches in Kiev during the next two years.”—Sam Taylor, IMB strategy coordinator in Kiev, Ukraine

Where would you rather put your bucks?
The highest paid player in the NFL makes $20.6 million a year. Would you be willing to give as much to support missionaries as you might spend to take a family of four to an NFL football game? Read more.

International Missions Emphasis 2003

That all peoples may know Him

At a mosque in Calcutta, India, IMB president Jerry Rankin talks with a Muslim man following noon prayers. Many people around the world haven’t rejected the gospel, says Rankin. They just have never heard.

What Jerry Rankin wants every pastor to know

God doesn’t need Southern Baptists, says IMB president Jerry Rankin. But He’s chosen to use us to reach a lost world. Learn more about what God’s doing, where Southern Baptists still fall short and how your church can get involved.
