The principal reason for the virgin birth was so that the entry of God into human flesh might be by divine initiative. It is not by any human act or at any human initiative that salvation comes to us. It is divinely initiated. Man does nothing. Mary did nothing (other than to submit to what God would do). [GEAR] Bartolini soapbar tone?

I need some input on Bart pickups. Last week the worship team was guys-only, which also meant that we got to turn up the instruments a bit 🙂 For the first time in a _long_ time, my bass was loud enough that my minidisc recorder picked it up clearly.

What I heard has me thinking about making some changes, mainly in my playing and practice regime 🙂 But I'd also like to warm up the tone a bit - it's a bit too "in your face" for my tastes when I solo the MM pickup. I can do that nicely by adding some neck pickup, but then I get a lot of humm cuz the neck pickup is a single coil.

I was looking at Bartolini's web site and noticed that they have a _bunch_ of humbucking soapbar pickups, in all sorts of shapes and sizes. I'm curious if there are big tonal differences between all the combinations - wide humbucker, skinny humbucker, "EMG-shaped" humbucker, etc. Anyone have any experience to share on these? TIA.
