THANKFUL FOR

I'm thankful for my failures and mistakes,
for times I erred or slipped or wrongly stepped --
no, not for sin itself nor for the aches
I've caused by being clumsy, blind, or inept.
My thanks arise from all the lessons learned
from what I did, the chance to grow, succeed,
to practice godly wisdom newly discerned.
To glory in my failure is my creed,
for when I'm weak I turn to a greater Power;
in wilting I discover the means to flower.
