Our hearts and prayers go out to the victims of the
terrorist attacks in London. We pray for justice in
the world, knowing that God will make all things
right in the next life.

THE SIMPLE WORD IS BEST

The simple word is best; let yes be yes
And no mean no, for more than this is sin.
Let others curse, but you were called to bless;
The timely phrase, the earnest praise will win
The weak, the hard of heart, the mind in doubt.
Good news is bubbling water to the soul.
The warming whisper's heard, but not the shout,
To melt the thickened ear, the whitish coal.
The soft reply, by meekness, dampens wrath,
As wisdom chooses well for best effect;
The tongue must travel down a treacherous path;
By careless lips has many a life been wrecked.
The word of rescue plunges in the wave,
Its goal to throw the rope of faith and save.
