THIS HOUSE

The tiles and fixtures of this house
Have not the highest quality,
They've shown the wear and tear of time
And use by a normal family.
The scruff and scratch and nicks of living
Are everywhere seen on walls and chrome,
All signs of growth and simple giving,
The marks that make this house a home.
