TRUST THE TIMES

such as Scientific American, The New York

Trust the New York Times, you say?
The Times that chided Goddard's science?
that claims ten errors in a day?
The Times inspires such firm reliance?
Trust the eminent Times, you're solemn,
that claims as Fact an editor's views?
that runs another paper's column,
as if to print exclusive news?
Trust the Times of Jayson Blair,
Or Miller's fancied terrorist tricks?
Oh, yes, the impartial Times is fair,
To laud the liberals' politics!
Before I'd trust the New York Times,
I'd place my faith in Michael Moore,
Accuse old Santa of heinous crimes,
Believe the 'Net was made by Gore.
The Times for me is debonair,
Too surly, cutting, wrapped in pork.
My simple mind's too poor to wear
The threadbare Times of old New York.
