WHEN MAN GOES FASTER
by J. Randal Matheny

God promised an only son to Abraham,
And asked a patient faith in the great I-AM;
By human count the Lord forgot, delayed
(With shortened sight, a hope deferred will fade);
As years went by, Sarah felt a need
To give the sluggish Lord a hand and speed
The promised child's arrival. When man goes faster
Than God, the end result is naught but disaster.
