Just as there was prophetic silence after Malachi, there has been prophetic silence since John delivered the Book of Revelation. 3. There have not been any authorized apostles or prophets, in the biblical sense, to write God’s inspired Word. 4. Clear biblical exhortations to not tamper with Scripture (Rev. 22:18-19). 5. The early church, those closest to the time of the apostles, believed that Revelation concluded God’s inspired writings.

    Dear friends,

    Please read the enclosed scripture passage. It comes from a
    letter of the apostle Paul to the church in Corinth. As you can
    tell by the letter, Paul and his partners have anything BUT an
    easy life. They are tested and challenged in every way. Even
    their lives are continually threatened. At the same time, though
    they have trials and sorrows, and though people are trying to
    discredit every single thing they say or do, they are content,
    and even rejoice, though they have reason to have sorrow.

    Do you have any idea why they feel the way they do? I believe
    that I understand this, because I identify with them. It is God
    who put a change of attitude into their hearts, and it is God who
    has put a change of attitude into my heart as well.

    Personally, I manage well. Yet it is not as though I have not
    had any hardships. Like Paul and his companions, there have been
    times when I have tried to be kind to others, and instead, I have
    been deceived and taken advantage of. Does that cause me any
    sorrow or anger? Sure it does. Yet, at the same time, when I
    know that I am in the place that I am intended to be, I am
    content, even joyful.

    My greatest sorrow comes, not when someone attempts to make life
    unpleasant, but when I choose to go somewhere or do something
    other than what my Lord has intended for me. Any other sorrow is
    temporary, at most.

    My greatest joy comes when I know that I am in the center of the
    will of God; that is, I am in the place that God intends for me,
    and that I am obedient to whatever God is asking me to do, at any
    given time.

    Dear Lord, I am exceedingly thankful for Your love, and forever
    grateful that You are the Great Shepherd, consistently willing
    and able to lead me in ways of hope, kindness, purpose, and
    truth. When I am with You, I am completely content and at peace.
    Thank you, just the same, for the storms of life, which help me
    to seek Your shelter, so that I am never far away from You.
    Amen.
