We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

Therefore when the trial comes (and often remains), we understand that while in the trial we are being firmly held in His wise and loving arms. As the trial humbles us, it manifests a weakness in us that causes us to cast a greater dependence on Him. We are forever weaned of our self-sufficiency and our self-reliance and learn to trust in His resources and not our own. God provides perfectly measured, sufficient grace (His divine assistance through the Holy Spirit) enabling us to remain in the trial with our faith intact. We are enabled to depend more on His strength and not our own. And we are enabled to trust Him for the working of Christlikeness in our lives (Jas. 1:2-4).

If there were such a thing as a seeker, what would he be seeking? The church growth movement seems to believe he would be seeking more of the same. In a world consumed with lighthearted entertainment, we offer up less professional, less entertaining lighthearted entertainment? Why, I keep wondering, would a “seeker” get up on a Sunday morning, and travel to some giant box to hear a third rate rock band preceding a third rate comic giving a third rate “message” that leaves him in the same state that he arrived in?

Jesus Commands Us to Go

Jesus commands us to go,

But we go the other way.

So he carries the burden alone,

While his children are busy at play,

Feeling so called to stay.

Oh, how God grieves and believes that the world can’t be saved,

Unless the ones he’s appointed obeys,

His command and his stand for the world,

That he loved more than life.

Oh he died, and he cries out tonight.

Jesus commands us to go,

It should be the exception if we stay.

It’s no wonder we’re moving so slow,

When his church refuses to obey,

Feeling so called to stay.

Oh how God comes, as he starts the great judgment of fire,

So he can gain, his greatest desire.

Cause he knows that the souls of the lost,

They can only be reached, through us,

We’re his hands and his feet.

Jesus commands us to go,

It should be the exception if we stay.

It’s no wonder we’re moving so slow,

When god’s children refuse to obey,

Feeling so called to stay.
