We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

When we speak of assurance, we are speaking of that which we know because the evidence is clear. This is the heart of First John and the other passages dealing with this subject. The way to tell if you are a Christian is not to look at the sincerity of a decision, but to look at the change in the life. As far as I can tell, there is no teaching in the Word which says that you can be sure that you are a Christian by looking back at an historical conversion experience. “These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life...” (1 Jn. 5:13, emphasis mine). What things? Those tests which make up the content of the epistle. In other words, one’s assurance should be based on discernible factors which can be tested.

INGREDIENTS

3 Eggs
1/2 Chopped pecans
1 1/4 Sugar
5 Stale french bread cubed
1 1/2 pt Nutmeg
1 Chopped apple
1 1/2 pt Vanilla extract
2 Eggs
1 1/2 pt Ground cinnamon
2 Icing sugar
1/4 Unsalted butter
1/2 lb Unsalted butter
2 1/4 Milk
1/4 Bourbon whisky
1/2 Raisins

INSTRUCTIONS

With an electric mixer, beat eggs until frothy (about 3 minutes). Add
sugar, nutmeg, vanilla and cinnamon, and beat until well blended. In a
sauce, heat the butter and milk until the butter melts (but do not allow it
to boil). In a large bowl, mix together raisins, pecans and bread cubes.
Combine the milk and egg mixtures, pour this over the bread and allow it to
soak for 45 minutes. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly grease
individual ramekins or a large loaf pan. Add the apple to the bread
pudding, and spoon mixture into the baking container. Place in oven
immediately reduce heat 300 degrees F and bake for 40 minutes. Increase
heat to 425 degrees F and bake for another 15 minutes until nicely browned.
To make bourbon sauce, combine 2 eggs and icing sugar. Melt butter in a
double broiler, whisk in egg mixture and cook, stirring constantly, until
sugar has melted and sauce has thickened slightly. Allow to cool, and add
bourbon. Serve over bread pudding.

A Message from our Provider:

“Our hopelessness and our helplessness are no barrier to (God’s) work. Indeed our utter incapacity is often the prop He delights to use for His next act… We are facing one of the principles of Yahweh’s modus operandi. When His people are without strength, without resources, without hope, without human gimmicks – then He loves to stretch forth His hand from heaven. Once we see where God often begins we will understand how we may be encouraged. #Ralph Davis”
