We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

Christians seem blind to the hypocrisy of treating homosexual conduct so seriously and adultery and divorce so lightly. Evangelicals cry out that they must defend “traditional marriage” against the danger of “gay marriage.” But the greatest threat to traditional marriage is not from without but from within; from the rampant adultery and divorce that is found in heterosexual marriages. Churches preach against “gay marriage” (and rightly so), but tolerate adultery, divorce, and adulterous remarriage within their own memberships. The divorce rate among Christians is a disgrace. The church is so morally compromised by adultery and sexual sin (e.g., addiction to pornography and fornication) among its heterosexuals that it has lost its power to confront the plague of homosexuality.
William Einwechter

Whenever I am afield or outdoors, there steals over me the acute consciousness that I am confronted on every hand by the superb workmanship of my Father. It is as if every tree, rock, river, flower, mountain, bird, or blade of grass had stamped upon it the indelible label, "Made by God." Is it any wonder that in a simple yet sublime sense of devotion, respect, and reverence for all life, Christ longed for His Father's name to be hallowed throughout the earth?

Dutch Gifts, Cookies 1 Batch

INGREDIENTS

1 -teacup molasses or black treacle
7 oz Light brown sugar
9 tb Cocoa powder
10 oz Butter or margarine; softened
pn Cinnamon
1 ts Vanilla
1 lb Plain flour (approximately)

INSTRUCTIONS

Preheat the oven to 400F. Mix all of the ingredients together, except for
the flour. Add the flour slowly to the rest of the mixture until it
reaches the right consistency to roll out. The dough should be quite soft.
(You may find it easier to knead it with your hands.) Roll out on a floured
surface to a thickness of about 1/4 inch and cut into decorative shapes
with small cookie cutters, a sharp knife or the rim of a glass. Place on a
greased baking sheet and bake in the oven for about 8 minutes. Remove from
the oven while they are still soft and cool on a rack, then pack into
crocks or jars.
The authors note that the Pennsylvania Dutch settlers made these at
Thanksgiving and stored them in a stoneware crock until Christmas. The
cookies can be made at any time, but allowed to age for 4-6 weeks. They can
be used as a substitute for graham crackers for a pie crust.
