It is immeasurably sweet, and awe-inspiring, to know that Jesus’s two natures are perfectly united in His one person. Jesus is not divided. He is not two people. He is one person. As the Chalcedonian Creed states, His two natures are without confusion, without change, without division, and without separation. Jesus is one.
One of the greatest mistakes made by those who deny the perseverance of the saints is in focusing on the strength of our will to rebel rather than the strength of God’s commitment to preserve us in faith. Do you actually believe that in His infinite wisdom and love and kindness and grace that He cannot figure out a way to overcome whatever rebellious tendencies you might have and keep you safe in His arms? Do you actually believe that you are able to outsmart Divine Omniscience?
(1/4-inch) chocolate bread (can also use any sweet bread–banana; coffee, sponge; angel food, etc.)

INSTRUCTIONS
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Generously butter a shallow six cup casserole
or a large long shallow pan. Line pan with one layer of bread slices. Heat
the heavy cream over moderately low heat until hot but not simmering. Beat
the eggs with the sugar until well combined. Slowly add scalded cream and
beat until mixture thickens. Pour custard mixture over bread slices. Set
casserole in a pan of hot water and bake for 45 minutes. Edges should be
set and the center should be a bit runny. (The custard will continue to
cook after it's removed from the oven.) Remove casserole from water bath
and cool on rack. Serve at room temperature or chilled. Serves 8.
